Work History
Digital Media Master Teacher (Ignite! Online Academy) 2021-Present
Responsible for:
Technology Teacher and Facilitator (Forest View Elementary School) 2018-2021
This position had many different responsibilities. Some are as follows:
- Teaching Digital Technology Specials for grades 1 through 5. We incoporated ISTE standards for Students in projects covering digital animation, podcasting, research, writing, and digital citizenship.
- Issuing and maintaining digital devices for 900 users using multiple asset management and help desk ticketing systems.
- Developing and carrying out a 1-1 chromebook initiative.
- Creating and maintaining an online learning system for remote instruction.
- Creating and delivering Digital Teaching and Learning professional development for all staff.
- Tier 1 support for devices and users.
- Working with our Information Technology department rolling out platforms and procedures, participating in RFPs for the bulk purchase of new products, and helping pilot new programs.
- Working with Digital Teaching and Learning department to develop district documents and guidelines for effectively implementing digital technology in the classroom.
Fourth-Grade Teacher and Grade Level Chair (Forest View Elementary School) 2014-2018
Responsible for:
- Creating and delivering lessons for all subject areas based on Common Core State Standards and the North Carolina Standard Course of Study.
- Leading all team meetings and Professional Learning Team planning sessions.
- Representing our department in faculty based school decisions and conversations.
Third-Grade Teacher (Forest View Elementary School) 2011-2014
Responsible for:
- Creating and delivering instruction for all subjects based on Common Core State Standards and the North Carolina Standard Course of Study for third-grade.
- Served on the Media and Technology Advisory Committee. Collaborated on rolling out an Instructional Technology refresh for teacher and student laptops.
- Active member of my professional learning team for planning and developing instruction.
- Contributed to planning science based field trips with Duke School of Medicine.

Led the development of theme based units based on Common Core State Standards. Some examples include:
- Middle Ages unit that tied in Forces and Motion with scaled down models of siege equipment.
- A unit focused on Ancient Egypt that integrated Egyptian Mythology with reading and research standards.
Fourth-Grade Teacher/Grade Level Chair (W.G. Pearson Elementary School) 2008-2011
Responsibilities Included:
- Creating and delivering instruction for all subjects based on the North Carolina Standard Course of Study for fourth-grade.
- Chaired the Positive Behavior Support committee that was responsible for the creation of all school-wide behavior policies and initiatives
- Collaborated in the implementation of a school-wide 1-1 iPad initiative.
Academic History
M.Ed. Learning Design and Technology, North Carolina State University (Raleigh, NC)
August 2019 to December 2021
I completed the Learning Design and Technology M.Ed. program at North Carolina State University in December of 2021. My coursework focused on EdTech leadership, managing digital environments, delivering quality digital instruction, and Instructional Technology Facilitator skills.
B.A. Elementary Education, Arcadia University (Glenside, PA)
August 2003 to May 2007
I earned my B.A. in Elementary Education in May of 2007. While at Arcadia University, I had the opportunity to spend a semester in London, UK. While there I learned how much culture can impact education and how to think like a global citizen. I student taught in North Philadelphia at McCloskey Elementary School in a sixth-grade classroom. I graduated as a Highly Qualified Teacher Candidate.
